I have been painting as a hobby since obtaining 'O' Level and 'A' Level art at school.

Nursing was my chosen career but I continued to paint whenever possible, even exhibiting in the hospitals where I worked.

I have attended night school classes and workshops over the years which inspired me and helped to develop my style.

I am an active member of the Bramhall and Marple art societies, and have exhibted at the following places:

  • Stockport Art Gallery
  • Sally Brown Gallery, Marple
  • Toucan Art, Cheadle Hulme
  • Bramhall Library
  • The Northern Tennis Club
  • Turners Gallery, Stockport
  • Manchester Royal Infirmary
  • Wythenshawe Hospital
  • The Parsonage House Gallery, Didsbury
  • The Wolfgang Webster Gallery, Cheadle Hulme
  • Art My Treaure, Wilmslow

Rock and Roll is another interest of mine and the clothes and movement of the dancers have also influenced my art work.

I work mainly in mixed media or oil and my work tends to be colourful and decorative. Recently I have been looking at images of the Earth for inspiration and have interpreted some of these images into paintings.

Card making is also a hobby, again many of my card designs are based on current artwork or on Rock and Roll. I can personalise these cards if required.

In 2008 I was a runner up in the Bockingford postcard competition and my postcard was displayed at the PKB Gallery in London.

I have a studio at home and I am willing to show my work there by arrangement if preferred.
